Just one bullet can ruin multiple lives. Think Twice KC is a movement created by Project Safe Neighborhoods and the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission, which aims to create safer streets and communities by asking our people in Kansas City to think twice and not pull the trigger, so we can all be safe and thrive in our city.

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is a program that brings together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime. If you have info about gun violence in KC, you can leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at (816) 474-TIPS. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could get a reward of up to $25,000.

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is a nationwide initiative that brings together federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officials, prosecutors, community leaders, and other stakeholders to identify the most pressing violent crime problems in a community and develop comprehensive solutions to address them. PSN is coordinated by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices in the 94 federal judicial districts throughout the 50 states and U.S. territories. PSN is customized to account for local violent crime problems and resources. Across all districts, PSN follows four key design elements of successful violent crime reduction initiatives: community engagement, prevention and intervention, focused and strategic enforcement, and accountability.

The Crime Commission is a partner with the local PSN program, and also serves as the fiscal agent receiving the grant funds from DOJ and then distributing those funds through the grant process.
