What We Do

Each year we match our area's finest Police Officers, Fire Fighters and Paramedics to compete in sanctioned boxing matches that celebrate the strength, dedication and loyalty of these awesome men and women. Since 2005, the annual Kansas City Guns N Hoses event has been dedicated to raising funds for the Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund (SAFE), a program of the Kansas City Crime Commission.

Who We Help

SAFE supports the families of first responders critically injured or killed in the line of duty in 12 counties surrounding the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Often, insurance and other benefits can take weeks or even months to pay while the financial responsibilities for the family do not stop. One of the most important aspects of SAFE is the immediate financial assistance provided within 24-48 hours following the tragic loss of their loved one.

Kansas City Guns N Hoses has grown into one of the largest fundraisers for SAFE. We are proud to share that our family benefits have progressed from $3,000 when we began in 2005 to $25,000 today, thanks in part to events like this and all of our dedicated boxers, volunteers and patrons. Please take a moment to remember our fallen first responders. These men and women, and their families, dedicated their lives to protecting and serving our communities. It is with honor that we remember their sacrifices and continue to support everyone who is willing to lay down their own life to protect each of ours.

Seven first responder heroes were lost in 2020, which is the highest number of deaths that has occurred in one year since the inception of the SAFE program in 2003. These seven and all of our SAFE first responders will be honored at our 2021 Guns N Hoses event.

Kansas City Guns N Hoses combines KC's love of those who serve and protect us with a fun and friendly competition benefiting the families of our fallen
through SAFE
