THE KANSAS CITY METROPOLITAN
CRIME COMMISSION
A public safety nonprofit established in 1949.
Keynote Presentation by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney
Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney is a decorated F-16 fighter pilot, a Class A member of the PGA, and a true force for good. Lt. Col. Rooney completed three combat tours to Iraq, where he flew the F-16 Viper and was a two-time recipient of the Top Gun award.
He has founded two nationally ranked golf clubs but is best known for founding the Folds of Honor, a leading nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military service members and first responders.
Rooney’s life calling of “inspiring people to help people’’ is made obvious by his variety of roles. He is currently stationed at Headquarters Air Force Recruiting Service, Detachment One at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, where his role is to inspire the next generation of service members to give the same devotion to country he has so proudly demonstrated throughout his career. He’s a USA Today bestselling author, a highly sought-after motivational speaker, and a frequent guest of national media. Lt. Col. Rooney lives in Owasso, Oklahoma, where his most important role lies with his wife and five daughters.
What We Do
The Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission works behind the scenes to support law enforcement efforts in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. We are a non-profit organization that fights for the security of everyone on both sides of the state line by operating innovative and impactful programs.
The Annual Luncheon is one of two primary fundraising events that power the Crime Commission's core programs. The luncheon is also an opportunity for our community leaders and our area law enforcement personnel to come together over lunch for the good of every one in every corner of our Greater Kansas City community.
Traditionally, sponsors purchase a table of 8 and send up to four guests from their organization and the remaining four seats are donated to local law enforcement agencies as a "thank you" for their service to our community. Each year at the luncheon we honor our annual award winners.
