To all those people in the streets the last few days, and to people everywhere who are so deeply hurt by the murder of George Floyd and the other black victims of injustice – we hear you and share your anger. There is too much injustice and some of that injustice has come at the hands of bad cops – and that must end – once and for all.
Police brutality has no place in any community in our country. We know that the good men and women of our metropolitan police forces agree. Those few who may not agree have no place in police service. We all want a safe community. Violence is not the path. Unity and peace should be our call.
