What We Do
Supported completely through fundraising events and private donations, SAFE (Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment) provides immediate financial assistance to the families of Police, Fire and EMS personnel that lose their lives or are critically injured in the line-of-duty while working in one of the 12 counties in Kansas and Missouri covered by SAFE.
Often, insurance and other benefits can take weeks or even months to pay while the financial responsibilities for the family do not stop. One of the most important aspects of SAFE is the immediate financial assistance provided within 24-48 hours following the tragic loss of their loved one.
About the Tourney
Welcome to our 4th Annual SAFE Pickleball Tourney! Due to the pandemic, SAFE was unable to host its annual Guns N Hoses fundraiser for 2020. That's when Chicken N Pickle stepped up to the plate and offered the opportunity to play some Pickleball for SAFE. We had so much fun, Pickleball for SAFE is back in 2023!
This event is fun for players of every skill level and each team is guaranteed at least 3 matches. There is plenty of space to invite your family and friends to cheer and have fun!

Who Can Participate
All levels of players are welcome to participate. (Including first responders & sponsors)
Chicken N Pickle will provide equipment for each player and the Chicken N Pickle staff will give a quick tutorial on rules prior to play. Sponsors can designate two players of their choice or we can fill their team from our first responder pool of players.
Prizes will be awarded for the TOP 3 winning teams. We’ll also award BEST TEAM NAME!

All donations to the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission are tax- deductible. All sponsors can choose to send 2 Pickleball players to the tournament or request that we fill their team with first responder Pickleball players. Thanks to your incredible response, only a few first-responder team slots are left! Any sign-ups after the bracket is filled will be placed on a RESERVE LIST in the event that any of the teams cannot play. Please sign up if you are still interested because we sometimes lose teams at the last minute. You will be notified whether or not you are selected to play.
