Sun Fresh Markets has teamed with KY 99.7 and the Surviving Spouse And Family Endowment fund (SAFE) for “SAFE Month at Sun Fresh Markets”.
Throughout the months of April and May, KY 99.7 and SAFE are on location at local Sun Fresh Markets serving lunch. For a donation (minimum of $1.00) customers receive a Johnsonville brat or hot dog, a bag of Frito Lay chips, a bottle of Nestle water and a Blue Bunny ice cream bar.
All proceeds from SAFE Month at Sun Fresh Markets go to the SAFE program, a 501.c.3 non-profit organization sponsored by the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission. Funds raised by the SAFE program go to surviving spouses and families of police officers, fire fighters and emergency services personnel who lose their life while in the line of duty. Through SAFE, we show our officers, fire fighters and emergency services personnel that the communities they protect back them 100%.

Back to TopThe Larry Stewart SAFE Memorial Golf Classic is held each May and has become highly popular, with playing spots selling out quickly! The tournament always guarantees to be a good time!
Larry Stewart, Kansas City’s Secret Santa, was Vice President of the SAFE Board of Directors and passed away in 2007. To honor his memory and continue his spirit of giving, we have named of our annual golf tournament after Larry.
Besides team sponsorships, there are sponsorship opportunities for holes, special competitions, concessions, the after-tournament banquet, the tournament itself and many others.
This is a great place for your company’s logo to be seen by some of the most influential people in this area. Also, we need donations for our auction, services and concessions. Funding sponsors are needed for staff, publicity and promotional items. This is becoming a high profile program that attracts increasing public and media attention. Get on board now! Back to TopGuns ‘N Hoses, held each November, is an amateur boxing show featuring policemen versus firemen from the Missouri counties of Cass, Clay, Jackson and Platte; and the Kansas counties of Douglas, Johnson, Shawnee, Wyandotte and Miami. All bouts are supervised by USA Boxing, which is the national governing body of amateur boxing in the United States. Professional style championship belts and jackets are awarded to all participants in the show.
Seventy-five percent of the proceeds from this event go to SAFE and twenty-five percent go to support local amateur boxing programs to help prevent juvenile delinquency in our community.
2005 marked the First Annual Kansas City Guns 'N Hoses Boxing Event and resulted in a sell out crowd! This is one of the best events you could participate in or attend all year! Get on board now!
