What would Kansas City be like if there were no Crime Stoppers Program?

• The crime rate would be dangerously high.
• Hundreds of dangerous fugitives would remain on our streets and in our neighborhoods.
• Thousands of crimes would remain unsolved.
• Citizens would not contact authorities regarding crimes for fear of retaliation.
• Streets, neighborhoods and parks would not be safe for you and your family.

Since it began in 1982, Crime Stoppers has received over 100,000 tips resulting in nearly 9,000 arrests and the clearing of more than 21,000 cases.

What would Kansas City be like without the Metropolitan Community Service Program?

• Citizens would see higher taxes as a result of increased incarceration costs for numerous offenders.
• Neighborhoods, streets and parks would see increased litter.
• Bridges and overpasses would be graffiti covered.
• Area non-profit organizations would see increased staffing expenses.
• Neighborhoods, streets and parks would be unsafe for you and your family.

Since beginning clean-up projects in 1996, MCSP has collected over 1.9 million pounds of litter from area neighborhoods, streets, parks and dumpsites. Each year MCSP clients contribute more than 300,000 hours of no-cost labor to the community.

What would Kansas City be like if there were no Surviving Spouse And Family Endowment Fund?

• Families of fallen public safety officers, fire fighters and emergency services personnel would endure the financial burden of their loss without assistance.
• Public safety officers, fire fighters and emergency services personnel would not have publicized backing from the communities they protect and serve.
• Citizens would not have an organized way of supporting publice safety officers, fire fighters and emergency services personnel who risk their lives for them every day.

Since its 2002 inception, SAFE has unfortunately been called upon three times for assistance to families of a loved one who lost their life while in the line of duty. With continued growth, SAFE plans to someday provide scholarships and other forms of assistance to those in the field of public safety.

What would Kansas City be like without project Ceasefire?

• Education of a crime-preventing law would be unknown.
• Hundreds of convicted felons would remain on our streets and in our neighborhoods.
• Numerous crimes would be committed by armed convicted felons.
• Someone you know and love could become victim to a preventable crime.

Since the beginning of the Ceasefire Program, over 1,000 defendants have been indicted with an average yearly sentence of 4.6 years.
