Annual Awards

In October, the Crime Commission holds its signature event: The Crime Commission Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon. Business leaders, law enforcement executives and community leaders come together for an afternoon of fellowship and recognition. Four prestigious awards are presented at this popular event that has grown to an audience of more than 600 distinguished guests.

The Ilus Davis Award is presented to an individual or business that has displayed an extensive willingness to support law enforcement and justice agencies. Fill out a Nomination Form to submit a deserving nominee. Nomination Forms due by September 12, 2008.

The Alvin Brooks Award is presented to an outstanding community leader. Fill out a Nomination Form to submit a deserving nominee. Nomination Forms due by September 12, 2008.

The Officer of the Year Award is presented to an outstanding police officer. Fill out a Nomination Form to submit a deserving nominee. Nomination Forms due by September 12, 2008.

The Clarence M. Kelley Award is also presented at the Annual Luncheon each year by the Kansas City Chapter of ASIS International in conjuction with the Crime Commission. The award is presented to a Criminal Justice Executive in the Kansas City metropolitan area that is an excellent administrator, proactive in their approach and dedicated to improving the criminal justice system.
