In October, the Crime Commission holds its signature event: The Crime Commission Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon. Business leaders, law enforcement executives and community leaders come together for an afternoon of fellowship and recognition. Four prestigious awards are presented at the Annual Luncheon. The Ilus Davis Award is presented to an individual or business that has displayed an extensive willingness to support law enforcement and justice agencies. The Alvin Brooks Award is presented to an outstanding community leader. The Officer of the Year Award is presented to an outstanding police officer.
The Clarence M. Kelley Award is also presented at the Annual Luncheon each year by the Kansas City Chapter of ASIS International in conjuction with the Crime Commission. The award is presented to a Criminal Justice Executive in the Kansas City metropolitan area that is an excellent administrator, proactive in their approach and dedicated to improving the criminal justice system.

The Crime Stoppers Bill Grigsby Annual Golf Classic is one of the biggest events of the year and is a fundraiser for the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline reward fund.
This highly popular event is held in August and playing spots sell out quickly.
Besides team sponsorships, there are sponsorship opportunities for holes, special competitions, concessions, the after-tournament banquet, the tournament itself and many others.

Attendees call this one of the most enjoyable events of the year. Former Chiefs players host paying guests to a night of music, dancing and great food at the Crime Stoppers and KC Chiefs Ambassadors Annual Tent Event. A live auction consisting of valuable sports memorabilia, hotel stays and more is held with proceeds benefiting the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline operational needs.
Each year Crime Stoppers holds its Annual Call Takers Breakfast to thank area law enforcement and media partners for all the help they provide throughout the year. These individuals help make Crime Stoppers successful and this event is our way of thanking them for all their hard work and dedication. Many awards are presented, including the Call Taker of the Year. Contact Amy Macey at 816-960-6800 to sponsor this event, a table for the event or purchase individual tickets.
Mark your calendar for the 14th Annual Call Takers Breakfast & Awards Ceremony scheduled for January 29, 2009.The Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund, "SAFE" exists to support the families of Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and Emergency Services Personnel in the Kansas City metropolitan area who have perished while protecting our community and our citizens. In an effort to help ease the pain felt by these suffering families, SAFE provides emotional and financial support. In this way, we hope to repay some of the kindness and dedication these heroes have shown us and the ultimate sacrifice they have made for us.
