Kansas City's Most Wanted

Pay a buck, spot a fugitive, earn up to $1,000.

The Crime Commission has created a new “newspaper” called Kansas City’s Most Wanted, which is being sold at nearly 100 convenience and liquor stores in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas. The eight-page publication began distribution June 20, 2007 and costs $1. The paper features mugs of 70 to 80 local fugitives, grouped by the felonies they allegedly committed. Pick up your copy at one of the distribution locations today.

The $1 charge is needed to cover costs for creating the paper every two weeks. Twenty-five cents from each issue sold will go to the store. The remaining 75 cents will pay production and distribution costs, with any excess going into the Crime Stoppers 474-TIPS reward fund.

The newspaper is a way of putting the names and faces of more fugitives before the public eye and provides a first-time comprehensive list of the area’s most-wanted fugitives. Although early issues feature mostly fugitives from Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas it is planned to include suspects from five area counties in future editions and expand distribution to 200 stores.
